UNDER SECTION 4(1) b (vii) OF

RIGHT TO INFORMATION ACT, 2005

Existing Arrangement for consultation with, or representation by the members of the public in relation to formulation its of policy and implementation thereof.

1. Grievances / Advisory Committee in the Central Bureau of Narcotics provides a platform for the opium poppy cultivators, the public representatives, the village Lambardars and the Department to discuss grievances of the opium poppy cultivators. The composition of the Committee is as follows -

1.	Unit Deputy Narcotics Commissioner	Chairman
2.	Unit Assistant Narcotics Commissioner	Member
3.	District Opium Officer / Superintendent as nominated by the DNC.	Member
4.	Inspector at Unit Headquarter nominated by the DNC	Member
5.	All MPs / MLAs opium growing areas / Districts	Member
6.	Lambardar of Highest & Lowest Yielding villages in each Division	Member
7.	Cultivators who tendered highest yield on Unit basis (wherever applicable)	Member
8.	Any other cultivator to be decided by DNC	Member
9.	Agricultural expert from Agricultural Research Institute / Univerties or from Krishi Gyan Kendra established by the State Agriculture Department	Member

The meeting of the Committee is held once in four months.

2. Representations from the opium poppy cultivators are also received in the office of the District Opium Office, Deputy Narcotics Commissioner and Narcotics Commissioner.

3. Suggestions / views of the local MLAs and M.Ps of the opium growing areas are also examined for appropriate action.
