On the basis of secret information received from Superintendent, P & I Cell, Central Bureau of Narcotics, Amritsar a seizure of 205.500 Kgs. of opium has been effected by the joint preventive party led by Shri J.L. Meena, Superintendent; Shri V.S. Meena, Superintendent and Shri D.K. Devasthali, District Opium Officer Chittorgarh-III Division on 31/05/2014 at about 12:30 hrs at Gongunda Toll Plaza, Udaipur-Pindwara Road, NH-76, Police StationGogunda, District-Udaipur, Rajasthan from a Maruti Swift Dezire Car. Four persons were arrested u/s 8/18(b) of NDPS Act, 1985. The Maruti Swift Dezire car was also seized u/s 60(3) of NDPS Act, 1985 and a case was registered by the P&I Cell, Central Bureau of Narcotics, Chittorgarh. For more information click here …

The Government of India has now initiated the process to amend the NDPS Rules, 1985 to incorporate enabling mandatory provisions for online registration and submission of online returns by manufactures and wholesalers of psychotropic substance. In this context, the Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue has advised Central Bureau of Narcotics to organize workshops in major cities, viz., Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Ahmedabad where both manufactures & wholesalers of psychotropic substances and pharmaceuticals associations are invited to express their views on this matter. Seizure of 1 kg Heroin effected by CBN, Lucknow on 21st November, 2013 at Lucknow (U.P.) On the basis of an information the Preventive team of Central Bureau of Narcotics, Lucknow has seized 1 kg of Heroin from the possession of a resident of Bhiwani at Kaisher Bagh Bus Station Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) and his two associates one resident of Hisar (Haryana) and other a resident of Jind (Haryana) were also arrested. The seized heroin was being transported from an area of Barabanki District in Uttar Pradesh, it is supposed to be destined to district Bhiwani (Haryana). Investigation is in progress.

The system for Online Registration and Submission of Online Returns by Manufacturer & Wholesalers of Psychotropic Substances has already been launched. This portal can be accessed on http://www.cbnonline.qov.in. It may please be noted that from 01/11/2013 onwards no application for import/export of psychotropic substances will be processed unless it is supported with online application.

Under the valuable guidance and motivation of  Shri L.S. Bist, Deputy Narcotics Commissioner, Lucknow, the  officers of Central Bureau of  Narcotics, Ghazipur and Lucknow  effected  seizures of 2.000Kg. Charas and 0.730kg. of  Heroin  on 01.10.2013 and 02.10.2013 respectively and two persons namely Dinesh Shah  S/o Chhotey Lal Shah   r/o  village Mauje Mai sthan,  Ward No. 3 , Raxaul , District Motihari ( Bihar ) and Munna @ Nishar s/o Abdul Gaffar, r/o H.No. 93/3 Rizvi Road, near Bima hospital , Pench bagh, Beconganj, Kanpur (U.P.)
